Ford Explorer twin turbo engine
The Ford Explorer twin turbo engine differs significantly from previous normally aspirated powertrains in terms of performance and efficiency. While conventional V6 or V8 engines solely employ engine displacement to generate power, the twin turbo EcoBoost system uses forced induction to boost horsepower and torque from a lower displacement engine. The 400 horsepower that the 3.0L twin turbo engine can produce was previously only possible with a massive V8 engine. Nevertheless, because to turbocharging and fuel-saving technologies like Auto Start-Stop and direct injection, the Ford Explorer dual turbo engine achieves higher fuel economy than most of the larger engines from earlier Explorer models.
